Giureconsulti Palace
Philology,
telematics, understatement. These are three key concept for understanding
the tranformation process undergone by the Palazzo dei Giureconsulti in
Milan, designed by Vincenzo Seregni in 1562 and owned by the Chamber of
Commerce since the time of the Austrian restoration....Philology....just
as the examples of Romans wells in the basement have been saved, the Sala
del Consiglio on the first floor has also been scrupulously restored,
a 19th-century "mini-parliament" laid out in a wooden semicircle
with classicist friezes. On the raised floor the Sala delle Colonne, whose
Renaissance lay-out is visible, has been converted into a conference area.
The Sala Donzelli on the first floor has kept its character as a 19th-century)
"salon", and for the central staircase too (early 20th century)
a chromatic and decorative interpretation faithful to its origins has
been observed..... ("Abitare", 311, 1992, pp.228-233)
