The new headquarters of Camuzzi Gazometri start by confirming
what is considered as the reality of the city, that of a productive centre,
a reality that Milan does not want to deny... Originally the industrial
complex, situated on Via Ripamonti, was withdrawn,
with only one big entrance on the corner of Via Lorenzini, as if the surrounding
area did not have anything to do with the building complex itself. The
area was poorly built and the railway was the strongest element present:
the surrounding productive network did not have a personality of its own...
Durability, transparency and technology represent
the information standards of the entire architectural project. The lighting project
has used these principles and has decided to privilege the architecture of the building
comples and its volumes, using embedded fittings quite exclusively, both
in the cieling as well as in the walls, so that they do not take up space,
so that the latter is free from elements that would be added to and overlap
the building´s structure. Source of light with a good chromatic
yeld, that highlight the materials whilst not altering colours and guaranteeng
maximum visual comfort have been chosen. The distribution of fitting ensures
homogeneity in the lighting values, area per area, taking into account functions
and tasks that are carried out in these areas as well as current norms.
