Loro Piana
The commission to study a new image for the sales outlets provided the chance to experiment on a new lighting system. The
atmosphere required for the showrooms needed to evoke the soft quality of Loro Piana garments featuring cutting-edge fabrics
and colours and quality materials like wool and cashmere. A system of lighting appliances was specially designed, later
marketed by iGuzzini ("light-shed"), incorporating rows of low-voltage adjustable halogen lamps working with both
symmetric and asymmetric light. This suspended, wall- or ceiling-mounted lamps project smooth and widely diffused light without
casting shadows and with carefully controlled luminescence ratings on both the horizontal and vertical planes.
